Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation — Season 1 Recap

Mushoku Tensei season 1 follows the story of Rudeus Greyrat, a man who is reincarnated into a fantasy world as a baby with his memories intact. He decides to make the most of his second chance and live a fulfilling life.

• In the first part of the season, we see Rudeus grow up in his new family and learn magic from his tutor Roxy Migurdia, a young adventurer. He also befriends Sylphiette, a half-elf girl who lives nearby. The two of them dream of studying at Ronoa Magic Academy together, but they lack money.

• Through his father's relative, Philip Boreas Greyrat, Rudeus gets a job as a tutor for Eris Boreas Greyrat, Philip's daughter and Rudeus' cousin. Eris is a spoiled and violent girl who initially hates Rudeus, but gradually warms up to him after he helps her improve her magic and sword skills. They also have many adventures together, such as fighting bandits, exploring dungeons, and attending parties.

• On Rudeus' 10th birthday, a mysterious phenomenon called the Mana Disruption occurs, which causes a huge cloud of mana to envelop the world and teleport people to random locations. Rudeus and Eris are transported to the Demon Continent, a dangerous place full of monsters and hostile races. There, they are saved by Ruijerd Supardia, a member of the Superd tribe, who are feared and hated by humans for their past atrocities. Ruijerd agrees to help Rudeus and Eris return home, while they agree to help him clear his people's reputation. They form a party of adventurers and travel across the continent, facing various challenges and enemies along the way.

• In the second part of the season, we see how the Mana Disruption has affected other characters. Roxy and her party enter the Demon Continent in search of Rudeus, while Paul Greyrat, Rudeus' father, travels around the world looking for his missing family members. Meanwhile, Eris' grandfather is executed for being blamed for the Mana Disruption by the nobles who want to seize his power and wealth.

• After many misadventures and near-misses, Rudeus finally reunites with Paul in the city of Millis. However, their meeting is not a happy one, as Paul is angry that Rudeus never tried to contact him or find out what happened to his mother and sister. He also reveals that Sylphiette is still alive and waiting for him in Ronoa. Rudeus feels guilty and conflicted about his choices and his feelings for Eris.

• On Eris' 15th birthday, she decides to leave Rudeus and go back to her homeland alone. She gives him a farewell kiss and tells him to find Sylphiette and fulfill their promise. She also thanks him for everything he has done for her. Rudeus is heartbroken and confused by her sudden departure.

• The season ends with Rudeus receiving a letter from Roxy, who tells him that she has found his mother Zenith in the Holy Land of Milis. She also invites him to join her party and continue their journey together. Rudeus decides to accept her offer and sets off to meet her.
